Environmental monitoring and transparency
We believe that transparency is demonstrated through actions. That's why we're making our Online Environmental Monitoring System publicly available , a platform that provides up-to-date information on the Atacama Salt Flat and its surroundings.
Through more than 300 measurement points , we record key variables daily, such as:
This data is open to the communities, strengthening dialogue and trust in the management of the territory.
Monitoring of flora and fauna
Caring for the Salar also means understanding how its ecosystem evolves. That's why we constantly monitor its ecosystem .
Through our Biotic Environmental Monitoring Plan (PSAB), we have a network that includes 99 vegetation points , 75 flora plots , 18 terrestrial fauna stations, 25 aquatic fauna stations, and censuses of birds such as Andean and Chilean flamingos.
In recent years, we have incorporated specific rescue and monitoring actions for these species, strengthening their protection within ecological corridors of the PSAB system.
This work combines on-site monitoring and satellite analysis , allowing us to transform data into decisions that safeguard the balance of the Salar.
Responsible mining audits
We evaluate our performance using international standards to ensure responsible operation in the Atacama Salt Flat.
We achieved IRMA 75 certification , an international standard that evaluates our environmental, social and operational performance , with a special focus on water use , biodiversity protection and community relations.
This process requires us to measure, make transparent, and continuously improve our practices, incorporating concrete actions to address the challenges identified. In this way, we ensure constant improvement in how we operate.
