Sodium chloride

El Sodium chloride, or NaCl, is obtained from different processes in the Atacama Salt Flat and at the Lithium Chemical Plant.

This salt has various industrial and productive uses in different sectors, such as road construction, chemical, aquaculture, water treatment, animal feed, and copper mining, among others. In the latter, it plays a particularly relevant role in the leaching processeswhere its use allows for increased copper recovery in primary and secondary sulfides, in addition to reducing process times and sulfuric acid consumption.
