Summer activities in San Pedro de Atacama

SQM Lithium invites the community to be part of our 2025 summer agenda, a community initiative that promotes culture, well-being and local development through various activities in San Pedro de Atacama.

During the months of January, February, and March, we will be holding workshops, cultural fairs, literary contests, and free health care, among many other initiatives designed for the entire Atacama community.

Several of these activities will be carried out in conjunction with AMA (Atacameña Women's Alliance), a local organization that promotes the active participation of women in the territory.

3rd Book Fair in the heart of the desert

One of the highlights will be the third edition of the Book Fair, which will feature renowned cultural figures such as:

  • Ivonne Toro: Investigative journalist, author of award-winning chronicles on human rights and society.
  • Patricia Camus: Actress and playwright based in San Pedro de Atacama since 1993. Cultural manager and theater director who has promoted intangible heritage through local theater.

Lulantur Tatai Literary Competition

Additionally, the community will be able to participate in the third edition of the Lulantur Tatai short story contest, an initiative that seeks to value and rescue the identity of San Pedro de Atacama. The award ceremony for this contest will be an important part of this summer's cultural agenda.

Free community workshops for adults and children

During January and February, practical workshops will be held to promote creativity, learning, and connection with traditions. These include:

  • Afro-Descendant Dance Master Class
  • Artisan Bakery Workshop
  • Waist Loom
  • Agriculture and Biopreparations

Mobile dental clinics for the community

As part of our commitment to well-being, mobile dental clinics will be available throughout the region during the months of January, February, and March, offering free, specialized care to the entire community.
