Educational initiative for rural schools
In collaboration with the Crea+ Corporation, we developed the Mathematics Support Program, which aims to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics in multi-teacher rural schools and high schools in communities near our operations, especially in the Atacama Salt Flat. The program focuses on schools that lack specialized teachers and appropriate teaching materials, with the goal of strengthening students' mathematical skills and improving their performance on assessments.
For the eighth consecutive year, this collaborative effort continues to yield positive results, both qualitatively and quantitatively. The well-established program continues to achieve excellent outcomes and is valued by teachers and administrative teams at the participating schools.
Furthermore, we integrate mathematics with other areas of knowledge, such as natural sciences, connecting the content with the local and global context.
During 2019, the program had a direct impact on 1.674 students and 49 teachers in various schools. We also facilitated internships in Finland, awarding scholarships to professionals who excel in their results and commitment to their students.
