Competitive Fund for Art and Culture

SQM competition that finances artistic and cultural projects of workers

We promote cultural and artistic diversity

In 2019, we created the Art and Culture Grant Fund, an initiative born out of a need identified among our employees and the communities near our operations. This program aims to foster cultural and artistic diversity by supporting projects that promote the creation, dissemination, and development of various cultural expressions in the areas where we have a presence.

Both employees and external cultural groups can apply, provided their proposals fall within the areas defined by the fund. These areas include:

Creation and dissemination of books and reading.

Editing and dissemination of artistic and cultural audiovisual material.

Promotion and development of music, dances and dances in their different expressions.

Creation and dissemination of crafts.

This fund has enabled the development of a wide range of projects, from craft workshops and culinary preservation programs to cultural performances linked to the religious traditions of the north. Initiatives have been developed in communities such as San Pedro de Atacama, María Elena, Pedro de Valdivia, and Quillagua, adapted to the specific characteristics of each area.
