ISO/TC 333 Lithium Technical Committee

In 2020, we joined the International Committee ISO/TC 333 Lithium, with the mission of contributing all our experience acquired in more than 20 years producing lithium compounds, participating in the study of technical regulations necessary to expand the lithium value chain.

The ISO/TC 333 Committee is a standards and technical body that is part of the International Standards Organization (ISO), formed in May 2020 at the request of the People's Republic of China, following a positive vote by numerous ISO member countries, including Chile.

This committee is made up of 11 participating members, highlighting the main producing nations and/or those with significant resources of this non-metallic mineral, such as Bolivia, Argentina, Chile and Australia, along with 14 observer members from countries such as Canada, Austria, Korea, Germany and the USA, among others.

Each ISO Technical Committee has a Mirror Committee in each country that actively participates in standards development processes, responsible for forming working groups in different technical areas or sets of standards. This Mirror Committee is a local technical body that allows national experts to participate in the study of international standards, replicate the actions of the International or Regional Technical Committee, and develop integrated plans for the study of Chilean Standards, technical publications, and international standards.

En Novandino LitioWe have already appointed experts in the areas relevant to ISO/TC 333, highlighting three workers with extensive knowledge in lithium: Alejandro Echeverría, Quality Product Management Director, in charge of product standards; María Teresa Martínez, head of Lithium & Iodine Regulatory Affairs, who leads the issues related to classification and labeling; and Christopher Green, head of Analytical Development, in charge of supervising the analysis methods.
